tonight i looked up in the sky and for the very first time
i had no questions & didnt bother to wonder why.
i told myself just accept things for what they are
like how i cant touch the sky but i should always reach for the stars.
that anything's possible if man walked on the moon
and to never judge someone if you havent walked a mile in their shoes.
that its better to give than it is to receive
knowin what you want aint exactly what you need.
as people we wear emotions that dont always agree
our gut feels one way that our minds refuse to see.
we try and build love with insecurity in our heart
but you cant build a house without bricks
the "he say, she say" will tear you apart
even more than the stones & sticks.
the longer i looked up at the beautiful sky
the more i understood the words of the wise.
by looking at nothing you can see everything
which explains why we close our eyes when we dream.
i take a daily dose of reality 'cause i dont mind the taste
life can be bittersweet at an indescribable pace.
here today but could be gone tomorrow,
take advatage, not for granted - pride should be swallowed
we try and build happiness with deception in our heart
but you cant sail a boat without wind
the "he say, she say" is only the start
but you are to determine where it ends.
